Direct Support for Monastic Living & Education
Main Jonang Takten Phuntsok Choeling is home to over one hundred monks from Tibet, Mongolia, and the remote Himalayan border regions of India.
The monastery provides complete room, board, healthcare, and an eighteen-year philosophical and meditative education free of charge to all enrolled students. Many monks arrive from impoverished families or remote communities lacking educational infrastructure, including twelve young novices from Mongolia under full monastic care and educational guardianship.
The monastery relies entirely on voluntary contributions and charitable patrons to cover the daily costs of nutritious meals, building repairs in the Himalayan climate, winter heating, and medical treatment.
